Amazing Graffiti Art from Argentina
May 16, 2008
MUTO a wall-painted animation by BLU from blu on Vimeo.
I had originally seen the indoor part of the video before, but with the whole thing put together it is amazing. Also I am not sure where this guy is from, but a sign in one part of the video had Buenos Aires on it so I figured he was from Argentina. Check it out if you have 6 free minutes.
Moving
May 7, 2008
I recently got accepted into a program to go teach English in Japan. This brings up feelings of both good and bad inside of me. Good, because this is what I have been wanting to do for the past year, but also bad because I feel like I am starting to get into a rhythm in my life here in Los Angeles.
I feel like I am leaving everyone I know behind and moving away for a year with a bunch of people I don’t know and probably won’t like as much as the people I currently hang out with. It will be a bittersweet goodbye, when the time comes. However, I can very easily make newer and different relationships with everyone I meet while in Japan. If there is one thing that I have learned about relationships among people is that they are like fingerprints, no two are the same. That is another inconsistency with life that makes it so interesting to live. You never know if a person you randomly meet somehow will become one of your best friends. I also wonder whether it is a relationship built of circumstance or if it is built out of friendship. Hopefully it will be more of the latter.
Woodworks for me if it works for you
March 10, 2008
This past Friday, I went to play darts with my friends Zach and Jamie at a studio of this woodworker who’s name is John Ballesteros. Seeing the stuff that this guy made and is making was pretty cool. He has a lot of cool furniture that he has kept for himself as well as a bunch of art that he traded artist friends for in exchange for furniture. Seeing the stuff he made inspired me to want to become a woodworker myself, however I feel like I don’t have the patience, the skill, nor the creativity enough to become a good one. Check some of his stuff out at www.jbfinewoodwork.com or come play darts with me on Fridays, but if you come, you better bring some money and expect to lose it cuz I’m a baller at darts.
Public Radio Kicks Ass
March 10, 2008
Zach just turned me on to this. I don’t know if it is common knowledge, but public radio plays really good music late at night and on weekends. If you are in LA it is 89.9 FM after midnight it gets good. Next party that I throw, I am going to have the radio DJ it for me. You can listen to some of the sets of music that people do online or listen to it live online at www.kcrw.com
